From a trading app to a SuperApp
The problem
Equiti's first mobile app was built for trading. As the company added business lines (physical gold, investing, wealth), each new product risked becoming another app, login and onboarding flow.

The decision
Rebuild as one SuperApp: shared onboarding, identity and payments, with each business line plugging into the same foundation. Clients with MT5 accounts can also trade from the app, not only clients on Equiti's own accounts.
What we built
A new app hosting every business line, with trading journeys aligned to the shared onboarding, identity and payments layers. After launch we kept improving reliability, and kept existing clients served while they moved across.
The hardest call
In mid-2026 we paused new features and commercial roadmap requests on the app. The whole engineering team moved onto reliability: performance, stability, and hardening the APIs behind live prices and trading on iOS and Android. The pressure to keep shipping was constant. But building more on a platform we couldn't reliably measure was the bigger risk, especially in volatile, high-volume trading sessions.
Results
We re-validated months after the fixes shipped, at much higher production volume, and the gains held:
- 38%Order execution on iOS 38% faster at the median, and 16% faster for the slowest 5% of orders
- 1.4 ptsiOS order-execution uptime up 1.4 percentage points
- 0No server-side errors on the trading API since the fixes
- 99.7%Live reliability monitoring the platform never had before, with 99.7% of price-stream connections succeeding
The lesson I'd repeat: when you can't measure a platform, stability is the most valuable feature you can ship.
